PAUSE IT: Deadly Prey

'PAUSE IT: Deadly Prey'

PAUSE IT: What do you see? What is the difference between a good movie and a bad movie, between a guilty and a genuine pleasure? In David A. Prior’s Deadly Prey we might ask ourselves just this. What is taste? What makes low-brow popcorn flicks so fun? For better or for (entertaining) worse, we respond as audience members to films that revel in their own glory. There are certain films we want to grasp ahold of us and to not let go. Deadly Prey is such a film. What it lacks in subtlety it certainly makes up for in enthusiasm for the action genre. Featuring fake severed limbs, cheap explosions, muscle rippling, and guttural yells Deadly Prey is a movie for the movie fan not ashamed of a little cheese.
